According to Sheila Waitherera, delivering on such a day was something to be proud of as a patriotic citizen. She named her babies Jomo and Kadenge saying that it was because of what the 2 heroes had done for the country.

"I went for the names because Jomo is our first president while Kadenge is a football hero," she noted.

Waitherera who is a football player said that she believes that her sons would in the future be inspired by the owners of the names.

"In our african culture, a name is usually associated with a lot of things but in my case; greatness is what describes my sons' names," she added.

The country celebrates Mashujaa day on October 20 annually to remember Kenyans that have gone an extra mile to bring fame and recognition to the country.
