Deputy President William Ruto has urged Kiambu County leaders to stop wrangling and work in harmony to ensure they realise development.
He said it was sad that the county had wasted most of the two years since Governor William Gitau was elected squabbling instead of engaging in service delivery.
Speaking at Joytown school in Thika town on Wednesday, where he commissioned the renovation of the school for children with disabilities, Ruto said that there is need to sit together and iron out their differences amicably.
The URP leader said the constant fights between the Kiambu leaders and Governor Kabogo, which has resulted in slow paced-service delivery, has portrayed the county in bad light and called for immediate ceasefire.
He said leaders should learn to dialogue and iron out their differences whenever they arise.
“We don’t want to hear any conflicts and fighting among local leaders. You are the same people and belong to the same political wing. You should embark on service delivery to help the people,” he said.
He urged them to ensure they deliver on their mandate.
