Speaking at the Lake Nakuru Lodge on Saturday the former Naivasha MP said that he was misguided to throw away his bid in the last general election.

Mututho insisted that there was need to elect leaders from the area as they were well vast with the problems affecting locals unlike outsiders who are not conversant with them.

“An outsider can not understand problems affecting residents. Expecting people from different locations to come and mend our problems is a far fetched dream,” said Mututho.

“I was duped into abandoning my gubernatorial race during the 2013 general elections with promises that President Uhuru Kenyatta wanted me to serve the nation in other capacities,” notes Mututho.

He also pointed out that he was the most active and vocal legislator during his regime.  Mututho said he stood in the floor of the House 3,366 times.

Mututho hit at the Jubillee government for failing to give Nakuru residents proper positions in the government yet they supported the it fully.

“We are among Jubilee Government biggest supporters but when it comes to rewarding loyalties they forgot us always,” said Mututho.
