Flying Squad detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Thursday arrested four people over allegations of siphoning fuel in Nairobi.

In a tweet on Thursday night, the DCI noted that the four were arrested in possession of various items following the operation which was carried out in collaboration with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers.

''OVER 1800L of Siphoned DIESEL were today Seized & Four Suspects arrested at NRB Joint Depot along Kangundo Road, following a Joint Ops by @DCI_Kenya F/Squad Detectives & @KRACorporate Officers. Two Trucks, Pumping machine, Horse pipes & 48 -200L Drums also Confiscated & Detained,'' wrote DCI.

The four suspects who were arrested during the operation include Peter Mungai, Joseph Njuiri, Albert Wanjagi and Kelvin Kamau. They will be held in police custody pending their arraigned in court. 

The four are suspected to be among a gang of criminals who steal fuel from tankers in the country. 

This comes just a day after 15 people were arrested siphoning fuel from a fuel tanker at Industrial Area in Nairobi. 

The police have now found out that the fuel which is siphoned from tankers is supplied through local depots to various areas in the country.
