One person was reportedly injured after a tree fell onto a moving car at Susu Centre-Industrial Road in Machakos town.
According to a bodaboda operator, Alex Musembi who witnessed the incident reported to citizen digital that his passenger alarmed him about the falling tree as they were on the same road driving behind the car. “As I was cycling behind the car, my customer shouted ‘Mti inaanguka,” he said.Musembi further revealed that his customer was forced to jump off the motorbike running for his life as he feared that the tree might fall on them. He also said that the car involved in the accident had two passengers, a woman and a man were rushed to Machakos level 5 Referral Hospital for a medical check-up. The driver was also injured in the head and is receiving treatment at the hospital. “The man who was driving the car was injured on the head. The woman who was with him rushed him to Machakos Level 5 Referral Hospital,” he said. The cause of the tree falling has not yet been identified but it is believed that the tree might have been unstable due to the heavy rainfall that is being seen in the region.
