An Orange Democratic Movement leader from Nyamira now wants DCI to arrest footballer McDonald Mariga and interrogate him over possible forgery.
Mr Dennis Maina, the ODM Youth Leader said the former footballer is being used by Raila Odinga's detractors to waste time in Kibra by-election race.
IEBC rejected Mariga's application on Tuesday, arguing that he is not in voter register. The former Harambee Stars midfielder has since appealed.
But Mr Maina says the registration card Mariga presented varies from those given by IEBC, adding that his national ID card is also a suspect.
"He's being used to drag us in Kibra polls. By now, he should have just quit the race. He registered late and the voter card could be having issues," he wrote.
Maina added: "Infact, DCI should question him over his ID. A born 1987 should not be in possession of an ID card with that serial number."
There were reports by a local publication that the DCI is probing the issues surrounding documents presented by the former footballer to IEBC.
Mr Mariga is awaiting verdict on his application. Should he vie, he will face Imran Okoth, Eliud Owalo, Eng Ramadhan Khamisi and other candidates who have expressed interest.
