The much-awaited Building Bridges Initiative report is continuing to generate political heat in the country ahead of its handover to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga next Tuesday.
While speaking in Kibra on Friday during the thanks-giving party of Jubilee Party candidate during the just-con-concluded by-election, McDonald Mariga, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale told off Raila even as he questioned his sincerity on BBI.
According to Duale, Raila is hiding behind the BBI to fulfill his own ambitions.
" You know, this handshake according to Uhuru Kenyatta is for all Kenyans. But that old man has his own agenda. But we will finish all these tricks on Tuesday. He told us that this BBI will be a tsunami. We are waiting for that tsunami," said Duale, who is also the National Assembly majority leader.
Duale who is a key ally of the Deputy President William Ruto, declared that they will shoot down the report from the Yusuf Haji-led team if it will not address issues affecting ordinary Kenyans, noting that the report should be circulated to all Kenyans for them to make an informed decision.
The BBI debate has divided the country's political class right at the center with two camps emerging: one that is supporting President Kenyatta and Raila and the BBI and a pro-Ruto camp that is against BBI.
