Dr Ruto is keen to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, and has since heightened his campaigns across the country.

Atwoli, however, believes Dr Ruto can never be president in Kenya, questioning his loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is keen to cement his legacy.

According to Atwoli, Dr Ruto has been running a parallel government, making it difficult for Uhuru to implement his agenda for the country.

“Ruto will not be the president and we shouldn’t be worried about him. Ruto has created a parallel system in Kenyatta’s government."

"He has disorganised the government and I can assure you that he will be the next opposition leader," he said in Siaya on Saturday.

Dr Ruto has been at loggerheads with ODM leader Raila Odinga, with the two differing on implementation of BBI report. Ruto wants it subjected to parliament while Raila wants a referendum.

“There has been various reactions over the BBI report. For now the report is out and here with us. We have seen the proposals and the recommendations and all we want is that through a consensus we agree on its implementation,” Ruto said.

The DP was speaking during the a thanksgiving ceremony for nominated MP David Sankok held at Enkare-Ngiro primary school grounds in Narok County on Friday.

“It is not necessary for us to threaten each other. The threats and intimidation will not serve us any good. Many institutions will participate in actualising what Kenyans want in the report,” Ruto said.
