Former National soccer team Harambee Stars players defender Musa Otieno, goalkeeper Mathews Owino Ottamax and striker Allan Wanga will on Saturday line up together in a team coached by former Harambee Stars coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee.
The trio are among players who will represent Harambee Stars select in a match against Hippos FC at the Samitsi Primary School in Malava, Kakamega County, on Saturday.
The Harambee Stars select versus Hippos FC game will serve as the curtain-raiser for the final of the first edition of the Karamoja Super Cup tournament.
Among other players who will feature for Harambee Stars select are; Ken Lemar, James Situma, Patrick Oboya, Titus Mulama, Simeon Mulama, Ramadhan Balala and Innocent Mutiso.
On the other hand, Hippos FC will feature the likes of Keke Roy, Raymond Roy, Jeff Kinyajui and Denis Mogendi, popularly known as Mosh Junior.
The Karamoja Super Cup tournament is being sponsored by former Gor Mahia player, currently Jaza Stadi Initiative Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bramwell Karamoja.
In an earlier interview with this writer, Karamoja said that he decided to launch the tournament in order to give talented soccer players a chance to showcase what they are made off.
“The idea was to have youth to come together and showcase their talent,” he said.
The tournament was launched on December 14, with a total of 12 teams taking part.
The champions will walk away Sh50,000 richer, runners up with Sh20, 000 while the third-best team will be awarded Sh10,000 on top of glittering trophies.
