Jubilee Party affiliated MCAs from Nairobi County have resolved to support the realization of the BBI report, claiming that it will be the only remedy, to chaos which must be witnessed in the capital after every general elections.
Led by Hon. Abdi Guyo from Matopeni Ward, the members noted how the BBI proposals targeted to unite Kenyans and do away with tribal issues, via equality creation.
"We thank president Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga for giving us a vehicle that will fully unite Kenyans and we are fully behind it," said MCA Guyo.
Guyo further revealed that the assembly members would carry out campaigns over all wards in public sensitization attempts over what entailed BBI, before major campaigns hit the capital city.
"Various MCAs have already begun holding informal meetings. We will be traversing the County in a bid to spread the BBI gospel even as we support the efforts of our counterparts at the National government," he added.
The MCAs called upon the initiative opponents to allow for a dialogue, at the same time giving views on what must be added. "Unity and peace are the most important aspects of the BBI initiative. It is not in any way meant to clear a way for some proponents in the 2022 general elections," Guyo continued.
The leaders also jointly called upon president's intervention to save National assembly majority leader Aden Duale from impeachment on basis that he was opposing BBI.
The MCA noted Duale as a staunt supporter of the government, hence no way he could be opposed to the BBI.
"Duale has been on record calling for a parliamentary system so that marginalized regions like Norrth Eastern can also get a chance to lead this country. This is the inclusivity we are talking about," noted Guyo.
