Kabatini youths have been urged to adopt new cost -effective and sustainable farming solutions to address food insecurity in the area.

Bahati Youth Group chairman John Mwangi, says that the challenges facing farming can be tackled through use of modern farming solutions .

Speaking on Wednesday at Kiamaina Ward, Bahati Constituency during entrepreneurship training Mwangi urged youth not to shun agriculture .

“Youths should consider agriculture seriously as it is yet to be exploited and offers numerous benefits,” notes Mwangi.

Mwangi urged youth to adopt modern agricultural techniques to cushion them against adverse weather.

“Bahati youth should strive to use sustainable farming solutions to ensure that they reap maximum returns and cushion them from harsh weather,” said Mwangi.

He said that agriculture has been boosting youth empowerment and urged youth to give it the considerations it deserves.

Mwangi urged the Nakuru County Government to enact good policies that would enable more youth embrace farming .

“Poor policies have been hindering youths to embrace agriculture,” said Mwangi.  

“Lack of appropriate regulations and lack of technical support have discouraged youth from participating fully in agriculture”, said Mwangi.

Mwangi however urged youth not to depend on government but instead to work hard to meet their needs.
