Father of Nakuru woman who died after her husband doused her with petrol and set her ablaze has broken his silence.
Mr.Jackson Ndung'u told the Nation that the suspect Benard Kahira was a rude man who respected no one.What's more he drank alcohol and smoked bhang.
Ndung'u said that he never approved of her daughters marriage to the man and everytime he wanted to meet his parents he kept dodging.
"He always sounded rude even to me,lucy told me he was an alcoholic and smoked bhang," said Ndung'u.
"He is a quiet but jealous man who does not want to mingle with people, most of his life is secretive," he added.
The deceased Lucy Nyira was attacked by her husband who beat her up before dousing her with petrol and setting her on fire.
Her only mistake was arriving home late from Gikomba where she had gone to buy stock for her business.
Lucy succumbed to injuries at Nakuru level five hospital where she was receiving treatment.
According to doctors Lucy had sustained 25 percent burns and was in a stable condition before dying a week later.
Nakuru county police commander ,Stephen Matu confirmed that the suspect was in custody and investigations into the incident were underway.
