An 85-year-old woman alleged to have shot two Kenyan sisters in cold blood has been charged in a court of law.

Beverly Jenne, the accused, pleaded not guilty to the charges of second-degree murder and assault that have been levelled against her.

Law enforcement authorities responded after receiving a call  from a woman who said that she had been shot 

“The events of the last several weeks have been tragic. We send our condolences to Ms. Oyuga’s family, and our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Ms. Atieno. We are deeply concerned that the home was so quickly destroyed by fire. We urge a swift and transparent investigation into the cause of the blaze. We look forward to sharing Ms. Jenne‘s story at the appropriate time and place, " a statement by the accused attorneys read as quoted by Citizen.

The police said that Jenne tried to commit suicide by strangling herself with a cord.

She was quickly rushed to the hospital.

Angela Otieno, one of the shot sisters, is undergoing treatment at a medical facility.

Janet Oyuga succumbed to the injuries she sustained after being shot.

Investigations have found that the accused had a note in which she said that Janet Oyuga was not a good person.
