The Kisii government has been challenged to employ more health workers at Keumbu Level Four Hospital to improve service delivery.

A section of Nyaribari Chache residents led by Peterson Ochari said there are not happy with the services offered at the facility due to lack of enough staff.

According to area residents who spoke at the hospital on Monday, they have to wait for hours before accessing services, hence their plea to the county government.

“We always come here to be served and we wait until the day ends and this happens because there are no enough health workers,” said Ochari

He added; “The health function was fully devolved, we ask our Governor James Ongwae to hire more health staff at Keumbu Level 4 Hospital if he wants better services for county residents.”

They also urged Ongwae to ensure adequate drugs stock saying some patients are forced to buy them from pharmacies or private dispensaries and hospitals, which is costly to them.

“This hospital has no drugs let Governor Ongwae look into the issue positively for the sake of Nyaribari Chache residents,” added Pastor Hesbon Michira who is also hails from Keumbu.
