The hearing of a malicious damage case facing a Nakuru MCA on Monday failed to proceed after prosecution requested to be allowed time to amend the accused’s charge sheet.

Senior principal magistrate Liz Gicheha allowed the prosecution's application and gave them seven days to make the changes before the trial kicks off.

The prosecution had told the court that they wanted to make slight amendments to merge the date of arrest and that of commission of offense which were faulty.

on August 28, London MCA, Francis Njoroge denied destroying a perimeter wall valued at Sh10 million a property of Beyond Housing Co-operative Society- a private organization at London Estate on August 23 In Nakuru County.

The MCA who is represented by lawyer Harry Gakinya is out on a Sh2 million bond.

According to police records, Njoroge together with others allegedly went to the piece of land located near Kobil petrol station and demolished the perimeter wall. The police also say that he was in the company of young men armed with bows and arrows and chased away the guards.

The complainant, John Oyunge went to the scene and later informed the police about the incident.

On August 26, the MCA presented himself at Kiamunyi police Station where he was escorted to Central police Station and released on Sh10,000 cash bail.

The court slated October 19 for mention of the case and further directions on the hearing date.
