Speaking on Saturday in Kismayo when he led a delegation of MPs to the inauguration of President Ahmed Mohamed “Madobe”, Duale reminded Farmajo that the interests of the Somali people are paramount than his personal interests.

He said that there is a need for the two sides to bury their differences for the sake of the economic growth in the region.

He said the unity of Jubaland administration and federal government is necessary for reconciliation to be achieved. He also said that Kenya is interested in supporting Somalia to attain its development and peace goals.

He also challenged Jubaland to consider the idea of exploring close ties with not only the Federal government but also other federal states for economic empowerment of its people in the near future.

“Kenya’s interest in Jubbaland is underpinned by our national security and that of the East African region,”  Duale said.

Farmajo has not been in good terms with Madobe. He has been accusing him of attempting to interfere with his administration at different levels.

He has also insisted that he will not recognise Madobe's leadership.
