Suna East MP Junet Mohamed now wants Deputy President William Ruto to apologise to ODM leader Raila Odinga over Kibra by-election squabbles.
Dr Ruto has been going ballistic against Mr Odinga for the past one week, accusing him of sponsoring violence which targeted leaders allied to his camp.
But on Sunday, Mr Mohamed, who doubles as ODM Director of Elections, maintained that Dr Ruto owes Odinga an apology over the polls.
"DP Ruto must apologize to Baba & the whole country for a week of lies. Here is a SOUR LOSER who, having trusted charlatans with Kibra, and spent millions in vote-buying at Weston and Karen; and LOST, heightened unnecessary tension in the country by his fake violence narrative," he said.
"After all these fake and hurtful propaganda toward Baba, Pres. Uhuru reveals he was informed by his own long-time supporters on the ground that Kibra was peaceful throughout the campaigns and during voting. DP Ruto must look for a place to take his lies, bitterness and matusi," he added.
At Sagana State Lodge on Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta conceded defeat in Kibra polls, arguing that Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga lost fairly.
Uhuru, who contradicted his DP, added that Kibra polls were peaceful compared to previous years where rival supporters had their business burnt.
“I never thought I would see a day we have peaceful campaigns in Kibra where people don’t lose property or lives. I saw a few people get stoned but they can speak for themselves. And even though our candidate lost, Kenyans, especially Mt Kenya people won,” he said.
He added: “There is a woman I know in Kibra who even campaigned for me when I was still in Kanu. They burned her stuff even in 2007, 2013 and twice in 2017. I called her this time and she told me that the campaign should have extended a bit so that she gets some more money.”
