Outspoken Suba North legislator Millie Odhiambo has asked politicians to desist from engaging linear thinking, arguing that they should be flexible.
In an interview on Wednesday, the ODM MP said in politics, one should not develop enemies, adding that people should only differ ideologically.
Further, Ms Odhiambo said, in the process of supporting certain agenda, politicians should not lose their integrity and principles which are held dear to their hearts.
Odhiambo, a close ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga, said as much as she used to have issues with President Uhuru Kenyatta, they are good friends at personal level.
"Sometimes when you're in politics, you have to drop linear thinking. Sometimes I used to bash the president. Like recently, Jennifer Shamala crossed from the other side to enquire whether I had called Uhuru a super legislator.
"In politics, we are a free enemies. But if you're principled, you ensure you don't bend your stand. There are things I don't negotiate. I met Uhuru at Joyce's funeral, I hugged him, I gave him a peck," she said.
Governor Laboso, one of pioneer female governors, succumbed to cancer in July. Her funeral brought together hundreds of Kenyans in Bomet and Kisumu.
Previously, Ms Odhiambo criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta, with the controversial passing of security bill in 2016 leading to fierce exchanges between her and Jubilee.
But since then, Uhuru has reconciled with opposition leader Raila Odinga, leading to relative stability in the country. Ms Odhiambo is serving her third term in parliament.
