The group on Sunday said the changes in the document should focus on addressing economic issues, worrying that it could bring about suggestions aimed at victimizing the DP.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa; a close ally of the DP said they will not accept anything apart from changes seeking to address Kenyans' challenges, adding that anything else will be rejected.

"If the report will not address the challenges facing Kenyans, it will be rejected. Kenyans are more interested in development," said the MP.

Mathira lawmaker Rigathi Gachagua said the report, which is expected to be handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday, should not be political or constitutional but economical.

This comes as a defiance to Uhuru's directive to all Mt Kenya politicians to rally behind the report when he met Mt Kenya region politicians at the Sagana State lodge two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, opposition chief Raila Odinga; who is also a co-founder of BBI has managed to whip the Nyanza region into supporting the BBI initiative.
