Nakuru County speaker Susan Kihika has condemned the murder of Baby Jeremy's mother.

Kihika wrote an emotional message to her supporters on her WhatsApp on Monday, sayng that the death “was a big blow to her”.

The Speaker, who spearheaded and cleared a bill of Sh600,000 for the baby after he was detained at War Memorial Hospital for four months termed the death as a painful blow.

The message condemned violence against women.

“Friends I’m still bewildered by the murder of Jeremy’s mum. It really deeply saddens my heart because I remember the tears of joy in her eyes when she realised she would finally be able to take him home after detention by the hospital,” she said

“I cannot believe she will never be able to hold that little boy in her arms again. That monster took her life and denied those two kids the love if their mother forever,” she added.

The speaker noted that as the country marked 16 days of activism against violence against women, it was time that women stopped protecting the criminals and start supporting the survivors.

“We should start protecting the public. I’m seeing too many of these criminals walking away with barely a slap on the wrist after their perverse criminal activities,” she added.
