West Pokot Governor Prof John Lonyangapuo on Wednesday announced the reorganisation of his cabinet.
According to the first-term governor, the reshuffling is meant to ensure smooth operations.
He said that he had noticed some form of laxity among some of the members of his cabinet, which prompted him to reconsider the changes.
Under the new plan, the governor has handed the Public Works, Roads and Transport docket to Christine Apokoreng while the immediate CEC Augustine Monges has been transferred to Finance and Economic Planning.
Lukas Chepelion, who was serving in the Finance docket before the changes were unveiled has been transferred to the Water, Environment and Natural Resources, while Education docket has been handed over the immediate CEC for Sports, Culture and Tourism Ruth Kisabit.
Former Water CEC Emily Chepoghisyo will not take charge of the Sports Ministry as the governor seeks to deliver on the promises he made to the residents when he was seeking election into office in 2017.
In other changes, Kitaleuyan Francis has been moved to the Trade docket, Jackson Yaralima to Lands department while Joel Arumonyang has been appointed in the Public Service, ICT and Devolved Units.
The governor also asked the CECs to work with diligence for the sake of the development of the county during the remaining part of his tenure.
