The suspect a university graduate is accused of engaging in drugs that may have led him to murder his father.

The incidence was confirmed by Murang'a police commander Josphat Kinyua who said that locals reiterated by beating the suspects to a pulp.

Kinyua noted that the suspect has admitted at Murang'a general hospital with serious injuries.

The police boss noted that investigations into the incident have begun in a bid to established why the man killed his father.

The officer disclosed that preliminary reports have shown that the suspect was under the influence of drugs.

 "We have initiated investigations to understand what led to the man killing his father but there are indications that the suspect is a notorious drug abuser," said Kinyua.

According to residents, the suspect picked the bad habit from wager on University where he was studying.

They said that the man was okay before he went to study at the university.

"Before joining univariate the man was peaceful and quiet. He was never involved in any criminal activities but we think peer pressure and bAd company led him to abuse hard drugs," a local said.
