Uasin Gishu County is determined to remove all street children from Eldoret town and take them to their respective homes.

Speaking in Eldoret town on Tuesday, Uasin Gishu County Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno said that the practice of the street children eviction is meant to link the street children with their parents since most of them know where they came from and their parents.

"The practice involves both parties and we are taking everyone home since every parents has a responsibility to take care of their child. Since most of them are over 18 years old and are involved in the rise of insecurity in Eldoret town, we are thus forced to take them back to their respective homes," he said.

He reiterated that the street children were fully involved in this saying they gave full information of where their parents resided thus making it easy to know their homes.

"As a government we have not done anything bad since we just took them to their respective homes to unite them with their parents. The story running in the media that we dumped over 100 street children at Malaba is false since our intention was to take them to their homes and not dumping them," he added.
