Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has rejected a call from one of his diehard supporters to contest for the Presidency in 2022.
In a tweet, Babu Owino said that he is impressed after he noted that there are not only Kenyan citizens but also Americans who want him to run for the top seat.
He, however, said that he will not be in a position to run for the seat in the coming general elections expected in 2022.
"I’m not contesting for president in 2022 but I want to thank this gentleman for having trust in me and for sure I will never disappoint Americans by working for my people and by being the President in the foreseeable future," he tweeted.
Owino has been very vocal on matters of national interest.
He has been one of the staunch supporters of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga.
Before the handshake, Babu Owino was known to launch endless attacks against Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto.
In the recent past, he has thrown weight behind the handshake.
He opines that the handshake has changed the lives of Kenyan's in different ways.
The MP has been asking leaders from different political divides to support the handshake for the sake of peace in the country.
