The sister of Lucy Nyira, the woman who was doused with kerosene and set aflame by her husband, has reacted to Nyira's death.
The sister said that the family was in grief, adding that the children of Ngaira do not know that their mother is dead.
Speaking exclusively to Royal Media Services-owned Citizen Television on Friday, the sister said that Nyira's children are currently staying with their grandmother.
"Now the kids are staying with their grandmother, we are staying with them and because they don't know what happened to their mother, I really don't know how things will be because they are small kids (Sasa watoto wao wako na shosho yao ndio sisi tunakaa na wao na juu hawajajua hata sijui kutaenda aje juu ni watoto wachanga)," Lucy Nyira's sister said.
The husband of Lucy Nyira has been arrested and is currently behind bars as police launch investigations with the view of bringing charges against him.
Neighbours say that the couple were in a constant state of disagreement and things worsened when Nyira returned home late.
The husband was angry that she was late, doused her with a flammable liquid and then set her ablaze.
The story of how she was burnt has left the Kenyan public reeling with shock with social media users trying to wrap their heads around why someone would burn his wife.
