Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has said that youths in the country are becoming poorer and poorer due to the lack of jobs that has been a problem in the country for a long period.
In a tweet on Thursday, Mutua said most entrepreneurial efforts that are being put up by a good number of youths don't succeed since they are not well guided.
"For a country with so much potential, our youth are losing hope as they become poorer and poorer because sadly, jobs are not being created and their entrepreneurial efforts are not well guided, leading to failure of most youth-led business startups," Mutua said.
Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader also said that Kenya should stop being a country where for one to get a job, he or she must have a connection with someone who holds a high position of influence.
He revealed that he always advocate for fairness, as for the few opportunities that he get, he always gives it to people who are qualified and deserve those opportunities.
"Kenya should not just be a country where someone gets a job because they know someone in a position of influence. I have always advocated for fairness. The few opportunities available should be filled by the deserving and qualified candidates." He said.
