Renowned activist Jerotich Seii has rubbished the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, terming it a means of power consolidation.
Speaking on Monday night during a panel interview on Citizen TV, the activist held the view that the report did not take care of the interests of the youths in the country.
"The youth are not present all the time. I think BBI is for consolidation of power, has nothing to do with ordinary Kenyans. There were no concrete proposals to empower youth economically," she said.
Seii went on to argue that BBI was keen on perpetuating the so-called dynasties stranglehold on power.
"Young people are under siege in Kenya. The only conversation we should be having about the youth should be led by the youth. The BBI, in my opinion... serves to continue political dynasties," she added.
Her words come in the context of a raging public debate on the contents of the BBI report and how they should be adopted.
Skeptics have charged that the report has whittled down the national discourse to how power should be shared instead of how to create opportunities for the struggling Kenyans.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga wants the report taken to the people while a section of politicians want it taken to Parliament for debate and subsequent adoption.
