Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka on Friday paid tribute to ODM leader Raila Odinga, terming him a prince of hope and determination.

In an attack targeting DP William Ruto, Onyonka insisted that Mr Odinga has done a lot in the country and that he deserves credit.

The Ford Kenya MP insisted that without Mr Odinga, cartels would have ruined the economic fortunes of the country besides violating the rule of law.

Onyonka, whose father Zachary Onyonka was a close friend of Raila's father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, said Mr Odinga's constitutional changes are justified.

"Some of you here were not there when police were chasing us from JKIA. I can assure you that the man sited with us here is a legend. He loves peace. 

"Without him, we will not be having a country. He has done well in defending us. Let us support BBI. That's the only way to go," he said at Dr Hezron Manduku's funeral, Friday.

The third term lawmaker said Abagusii people stays virtually everywhere in Kenya, adding that those ready to cause chaos will be dealt with.

"As a community, we are everywhere in Kenya. If you think you can force us to vote for you, forget about it. We are ready to deal with you."

He urged Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i to closely work with Mr Odinga, adding that he knows the way forward for the country.
