Speaking on Sunday in the constituency, Mr Gumo urged the residents to cast their votes for Imran Okoth in November 7 by-election.

He said that so much was riding on the by-election, citing his presence and that of Raila Odinga at the campaign as a reflection of the seriousness of the campaign.

Mr Gumo called on the Luhya community residing in the KIbra constituency to rally behind the ODM candidate Imran Okoth.

"When you see me waking up and coming up here, then you know that I have seen very far. This is to show that there is something that could go wrong and when we see that something could go wrong we have to come here. Luhyas will you support Okoth? (Mimi ukiniona kama mimi naamka nakuja hapa, mumeona kama mimi naona mbali. Hiyo ni kuonyesha ya kwamba kuna kitu kinataka kuharibika na hatuwezi kukosa kufika tukiona kama mambo inataka kuharibika.), " the former Westlands legislator said. (27:09-27:38)

Gumo's intervention will come as a blow to the Mudavadi-led and Wetangula-led Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford-Kenya parties respectively.
