Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has weighed in on the debate of the disbandment of the Inua Mama women group.
In a tweet on Friday afternoon, Passaris noted that Inua Mama and Embrace Team women groups should be supported.
''It would be a sad state of affairs if we can't unite the women of Kenya as one. The idea that white is one team and maroon another is taking us back to red and orange which our President clearly stated was not part of his vision for Kenya. Lets #EmbraceandInuaMama#KenyaMpya,'' said Esther Passaris.
Her sentiments come after Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege pointed out that the group should be disbanded.
Chege, who is in Embrace Team, another women group associated with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga, noted that the group should be disbanded as this divide women leaders into factions.
Addressing the nation during the launch of the BBI report on Wednesday, Sabina Chege said that the two teams should be dissolved.
"As women of this country, we are going to unite. From today, we shall dissolve these factions embrace and Inua Mama for the sake of unity from today," said Chege.
Various leaders from Inua Mama have now vowed to keep the group alive despite Sabina Chege's calls to dissolve it.
The noted that the outfit is not linked to the BB report thus it should not be touched.
