The Amani National Congress Secretary General Barack Muluka has said that the Musalia Mudavadi-led party is ready for the Kibra by-election.
Speaking exclusively to Media Max-owned K24 Television, Mr Muluka admitted that it would not be easy and it would take preparation to take it home.
"It will not be a walk in the park in the Kibra by-election. Any candidate should be prepared. Our party is already prepared, " the secretary general told K24.
His intervention comes amid speculation on who the Orange Democratic Movement will settle on to fly the party's flag in the Kibra by-election.
Kibra has long been a turf of the ODM party having been in the past been represented by veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The seat was declared vacant by the speaker of the national assembly paving the way for a by-election.
There had been calls from some quarters for other parties to leave the seat for ODM.
Speculation is rife that Eliud Owalo will contest the seat on an ANC party ticket having tendered his resignation from ODM.
It is not clear who ODM will give its ticket even though the rumour mill has it that Imran Okoth, the brother of Ken Okoth, is being considered.
