This is after it emerged that the low-traffic season has started. The firm finds it uneconomical to undertake trips to the Western African Nations.

The low season is expected to set in beginning next month. Kenya Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Ursula Silling has confirmed the new development in a statement released to the media houses. The suspension will take effect from October 14.

The airline has revealed its plan to rebook or reroute the flights for those who had already reserved space. The management has assured travelers of full support as the low season kicks off.

“We have made the necessary arrangements to continue serving our customers who had made forward bookings through our existing cooperation with partner airlines to ensure no disruption to their travel,” said Silling, as quoted by Citizen Digital.

The move comes after Chief Executive Officer Sebastian Mikosz denied reports that the airline has intentions of cutting down the routes across the world.

In the recent past KQ has been facing a number of woes including the threat by pilots to down their tools. The pilots are not happy with the issue of employing them on contract basis.
