Flooding is a real issue on Kenyan roads that has affected motorists in many parts of the country.
When it comes to driving through flooded roads, it is not easy as the lack of proper measures may result in fatalities. However, this can be avoided by:
1. Don't drive through floodwater that's moving or more than 10cm deep
It is important for any driver to avoid going through floodwater that is moving and 10cm deep. The reason why that is so is because the pressure of the moving water may outdo the weight of the car ending up carrying the car.
2. Don't drive at a high speed
When driving through a flooded road, one should make sure that he or she watches his/her speed. One should not drive fast through a flooded road. The reason why one should drive slow through the flooded road is because driving faster will lead to sliding of the car tires and throwing the vehicle off-balance.
3. Drive through roads that you are familiar with
Being familiar with the road is important as that helps the driver to know sections of the road which could be flooded.
