Kenya had to come from behind to pull off the hard-fought victory.

Muhammad Namir of Sudan found the back of the net in the 30' minute, scoring the first goal of the match.

Hassan Abdallah scored the equaliser for the Harambee Stars in the 65' minute.

Oscar Wamalwa thrust Kenya into the lead in the 76' minute with a sumptuous tap bringing the scoreline to 2-1.

The impeccable result, the second straight win, now puts Kenya on top of their group, having beaten Tanzania a few days ago in their opening match.

Kenya is the defending champion and will be seeking to retain the regional trophy.

The pressure is on the men's national football team following the victory of the women's national team at the CECAFA Women's Challenge.

Coach Francis Kimanzi has been relying on locally-based players with Gor Mahia's Joash Onyango putting on the captain's armband.

The tactician will be hoping that victory in the regional tournament will give the players a psychological boost as the national team seeks to feature in the next edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON)
