President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to host his Botswana counterpart, Mokgweetsi Masisi starting Monday next week. The Head of State will be in the country for a three-day visit.
The two leaders are expected to discuss a range of issues when they meet including education, health, trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, defense, security, and mining.
State House spokesperson Kanze Dena has confirmed the tour. She said that the two nations share cordial ties and they intend to take the same to the next level when the two leaders meet in Kenya.
“Several matters of mutual benefit to the people of Kenya and Botswana are expected to be discussed,” she said, as quoted by Daily Nation.
Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in power is expected to welcome the visiting head of State on Tuesday in Nairobi.
The Botswana leader is expected to be accompanied by several government officials when he arrives in the country.
Uhuru, who is committed to the war against graft, visited Botswana in 2016.
The visit comes at a time when President Uhuru has reiterated his stand as far as international relations are concerned. He has pledged to work with other nations and support their citizens in different sectors of the economy.
He has been against the deportation of foreigners but warned them not to conduct illegal businesses in the country.
