Police in Kangundo have launched a manhunt for people who vandalised a tank belonging to Masewani borehole two days ago.
Kangundo Central Member of County Assembly (MCA) Moses Mitaa on Tuesday urged residents to remain calm as police probe the incident.
He promised that another tank will be delivered as investigations are underway.
Mitaa urged residents with any information that may lead to the arrest of the culprits who committed the act to give to the police or nearby administration.
"Those who did this are people that are against development but people should not worry, the issue will be dealt with and the culprits arrested," assured the MCA.
Speaking at a different function, Machakos county deputy governor Francis Maliti warned residents against being incited to vandalize government projects.
Maliti stated that the projects use taxpayers money and when destroyed people are taken back in terms of development.
"These projects are yours, done by your money, it's you they benefit if you destroy them you're only punishing yourself not the government," said Maliti.
On Monday, unknown people pushed down a water tank supplying water from Masewani borehole to the residents breaking it to pieces.
It is alleged the perpetrators of the crime claimed that the water was being diverted to individual homes claims that Kagundo Central MCA refuted.
