Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri now says that his life is under threat.
He on Monday claimed that he has been living in fear, following an earlier raid on his home, as well as being trailed by a suspicious car.
He spoke in a press conference in Nakuru, hours after his gun licence was revoked by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The MP said that the cancellation of his gun licence poses great danger to his life and the state should be held accountable should anything happen to him.
"I have been threatened but I have been silent to avoid politicizing the matter and now that they have decided to take my weapons, which I can use to protect myself, I think it's a plot to get at me. Kenyans should question the government in case anything happens to me," he said.
He told the press that the detectives also questioned him about his recent criticism on the government, following claims that Deputy President William Ruto was locked out of his official residence in Mombasa.
He now says that his woes could be as a result of his dalliance with Ruto, even as he defended himself regarding the Mombasa drama, which he said he learnt of through the media.
"They asked me where I got the information and I told them I read it on the Nation. I think the government is out to harass people saying the truth and supporting the Deputy President," he added.
The vocal lawmaker claimed that he has been a licensed gun holder since 1992, and has never at any point been involved in a gun drama.
