Kiambu Deputy Governor James Nyoro has assumed office in an acting capacity after the county boss Ferdinand Waititu was barred by the court following his arrest. Nyoro has announced that he is fully in control and ready to discharge the duties of the governor until his case is concluded.

He has already declared that he will deal with anyone planning to misuse the resources of the general public for the short period he will be serving in this capacity after Waititu and his wife Susan Ndung’u was arrested over Sh588 million scandal. 

“I am now in charge and the CECs and all county officials are ready to work with me. At this point, we are not talking about making changes, but we will work together as a team,” he said, as quoted by Capital FM.

Nyoro also said that he is not planning to make any changes in the government and further reiterated the need for the officials to work together with him for the sake of achieving the plans of the Governor. 

Nyoro also said that he wishes Waititu and his co-accused well as they wait for justice to be served regardless of the two having not been in good terms following their election into office. 

The MCAs have since declared that they will impeach the county boss after he was charged with abuse of office, corruption, and handling of stolen property among other charges.
