Hours before visit to Bomachoge-Borabu, area MP Prof Zaddoc Ogutu has hit at the minister's critics, accusing them of unnecessary witch-hunt.
Dr Matiang'i is expected to lay foundation stone at the proposed Kenyenya Police Station later on Friday evening after attending a series of functions in the region.
Already, the Interior Minister had landed in Nyamira where he's expected to also lay a foundation at Matutu Police Station within Borabu constituency.
And the first term MP said on Thursday that the minister should not be detracted from delivering his mandate by 'broke sponsored sycophants'.
"Those opposing the minister are sponsored broke sycophants. We know them and their sponsor. I want to assure them that Gusii unity is unstoppable," he said.
Prof Ogutu added: "Let them be ready for his presidency. Kenyans are not fools. We can't allow the dark forces to conspire against a hard-working minister."
The MP's remarks were directed to a number of MPs from Nyamira and Kisii Counties who are opposed to Matiang'i's projected presidential candidature in 2022.
Among those opposed to his political aspirations include Joash Nyamoko, Vincent Kemosi, Shadrack Mose, Alfa Miruka, Ezekiel Mochogu among others.
Dr Matiang'i will also commission newly renovated Keroka Police Station in Kitutu Masaba region. It's not far from his Borabu settlement scheme home.
