Renowned blogger Dennis Itumbi has claimed that a number of bloggers are being held at the Capitol Hill Police Station in Nairobi.
Writing on Twitter on Monday, Itumbi went on to say that attempts by some legislators to secure the release of the bloggers, whom he described as village-based, had not been successful.
According to the tweet, the legislators who showed up at the Nairobi police station were kicked out.
The orders to kick them out were issued through "orders from above" Itumbi said.
"5 village based bloggers who had attended court in support of Moses Kuria being held at Capitol Hill Police Station. Several Legislators attempting to secure their release being kicked out of the police Station " Orders from above," the blogger tweeted.
Moses Kuria was in court on Monday for the hearing of a case in which he is accused of physically assaulting a woman.
He was denied anticipatory bail which he sought to be granted to him for fear of being arrested again.
Legislators allied to the Deputy President Dr William Ruto have been rallying behind the embattled Gatundu South Member of Parliament.
They contend that he is being persecuted because of the position he has taken on a raft of topical issues including the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
