According to the announcement, Kenya Forest Service has announced 10 positions for forest management trainees, 47 positions for forester trainee, 193 vacancies for record management assistants (clerical officers) and 57 positions for drivers and plant operators.

“Interested candidates who meet the requirements should apply, clearly indicating reference number for the position. Application should include current curriculum vitae indicating current and expected remuneration, mobile number, names and contact details of referees," read part of the advert.

KFS Board is making its first recruitments since the appointing of Julius Kamau as the Chief Conservator of Forest on April 2019.

Kamau is currently the Deputy Executive Director for Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust. He also served as the Executive Director at the East African Wild Life Society.

Kamau is a popular environmentalist who has brought sanity at the KFS ever since taking over. Last year, he was among a team set up to investigate forest management resources and logging in the country.
