ODM leader Raila Odinga is no longer enjoying the huge backing he once had in Western Kenya, political analyst Martin Andati has said.
This, he has based on the happenings at Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday, where a section of locals who attended the BBI forum started leaving when Raila took the stage.
Andati says that the changing times is as a result of fatigue, noting that the region is growing tired of repeatedly voting for Raila yet he fails to deliver the presidency.
He says that some locals no longer have the admiration they had for him, hence the reason why massive mobilization had to be carried out ahead of the Bukhungu forum.
"There is fatigue, they have unsuccessfully supported Raila since 2007 and are now growing tired (Iko fatigue, wameunga Raila kutoka 2007 na haijafaulu na sasa wananchi wameanza kuchoka)," he said on Radio Maisha, Monday morning.
He noted that before, Raila's presence in Western Kenya attracted massive crowds, even if he was not accompanied by area politicians.
He also stated that Raila risks losing even more in the future, given that not even as a single of the promises he has been giving the region during campaigns has been realized.
"He has not addressed what he said he would, so his support is on the decline (Yale maswala amekuwa akisema atatatua bado hayajatatuliwa so support inapungua)," he added.
