Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has added his voice into the alleged plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto before 2022.
In an interview on Citizen’s JKL Show on Wednesday, Murkomen said that Ruto is concerned with the twists of events in the country.
He noted that they discussed a range of issues but when he asked him about the alleged plot to eliminate him, the DP was reluctant to respond.
The senator also said that he could read the body language of the DP and it is clear he is not at peace.
"When I asked him, what is this story that you're being sought by DCI and so forth, he said 'no no no those are other issues' you know the way he usually does," said Murkomen.
He further revealed that DP Ruto has enhanced his security detail to counter any threat. He said that he saw extra cars on his convoy when he visited his home.
"I also saw his convoy when he left his office, it looked like it was enhanced and so I asked one of the security guys, 'there's another extra car, two or so here and people I've never seen before' and he told me that some work had been done," Mukomen narrated.
Ruto has not yet recorded a formal statement in regard to the matter. He reportedly wants to record the statement with DCI boss George Kinoti himself and not a junior officer.
