In a series of tweets, Miguna said that Sifuna stands no chance to beat other candidates in the race for the seat.

He also urged residents not to vote for the 2017 Nairobi senatorial hopeful and other candidates who are selfish and non-ambitious.

"Don't even try to run. You have consistently gave out your name to the mediocre press that you are. If you try to run, the people will teach you a lesson for cremating Ken Okoth like a dog. Finally, even Moi claimed that Prof. Wangari Maathai was mad. Doesn't mean a thing," Miguna tweeted.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's daughter Rosemary Odinga has also said that she will not contest for the seat.

Rosemary had been seen as among the frontrunners to succeed the late Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer.

“I will not be able to vie in Kibra, but I wanted to come here today to greet and talk to you and to say I will keep interacting with you to the end,” she said as quoted by Citizen Digital.
