More Women Representatives have come out to defend themselves against claims of stealing funds meant for purchase of sanitary pads for use by young girls in schools.
The allegations were made by celebrated rapper Kennedy Ombima popularly known as King Kaka in his new song 'Wanjinga Nyinyi'.
On Monday, Busia Women Rep Florence Mutua dismissed the claims, saying the purchase and distribution of sanitary pads is not handled by legislators but the Ministry of Education.
She asked Kaka to seek clarification why the pads have not been reaching to the targeted girls from Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, who is in charge of Education docket.
"Kindly visit the CS Education ask him where the pads go he may tell you. Women Reps have fought to have the pads channeled through their offices in vain. Only a woman would understand the need of a pad. Circus," Mutua tweeted.
However, in a quick rejoinder, the rapper scorned off the Women Rep saying it is her job for fight for girls and ensure they are provided with pads.
"If I go and ask him then that means I will be doing your job, that means you will be jobless. Tufanye Kazi yetu(Let everyone do their work). Fight for us, fight for our girls," Kaka responded.
Other Women Reps who have slammed the musician of the allegations include Esther Passaris (Nairobi) and her Wajir counterpart Fatuma Gedi.
