Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga on Wednesday visited the Nairobi County Assembly to show her solidarity with embattled county assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi.
Speaking at the speaker's office, the firebrand Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party legislator warned MCAs opposed to Elachi that they had crossed the red line.
She appeared particularly incensed by claims that the name of veteran opposition and ODM leader Raila Odinga had been dragged into the impasse at the assembly
"I have come because these people have crossed the red line. As women we have taken in many insults, we have taken in a lot, but for us to be insulted and thrown into the bedroom particularly the bedroom of Raila Amollo Odinga, when you touch that, you have crossed the red line," she said.
She urged Elachi to stay put and not allow herself to be cowed by the MCAs working to oust her.
Elachi was reinstated back to office by a court order months after her ouster.
Chaos erupted at the assembly as a number of MCAs stormed her office after she made her comeback.
She has vowed to stand her ground no matter what happens as she accused the Majority Leader Hassan Guyo of sponsoring the violence against her.
