Renowned lawyer Miguna Miguna on Thursday hit out at Kenyan football fans for celebrating Harambee Stars' 3-2 victory against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars.
In a tweet moments after the match, Miguna noted that Kenyans should pay more emphasis on the happenings in the country, and not in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), in Egypt."Those yelling about #AFCON19 or "defeating" Tanzania and are unconcerned with the spiralling despotism are like children dancing in the rain as a tsunami approaches without understanding that they will end up in crocodile bellies if they continue dancing. You have been warned," he tweeted.
Unlike other leaders, Miguna did not congratulate the team for executing a historic comeback.
In the match played on Thursday night, Harambee Stars came from behind to beat Taifa Stars 3-2.
The win now means that Kenya and Senegal are tied on position 2 of the Group C table.
Harambee Stars need to get at least one point in their next fixture, in order to qualify for the AFCON round of 16 stage.
The team will face Senegal on July 1, 2019.
