Tiaty MP William Kamket has launched a vicious attack on Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, accusing him of undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.
In a tweet on Sunday, Kamket, a close ally of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, suggestively asked him to resign from government over Saturday's remarks targeting President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime.
He was making reference to the death of Pastor Benson Kiptire, a former MCA and an aide to Mr Murkomen, who serves as Majority Leader in Senate.
"Kipchumba Murkomen is a disgrace to MARAKWET. How can he claim that his PA was assassinated by the same GOVT he is serving as Leader of Majority na bado anaimba Kwaya ya hiyo Serikali? Bure Kabisa," he wrote.
At Elgeyo-Marakwet on Saturday, Murkomen accused the government of instigating assassinations against it's people, remarks which could elicit sharp differences.
"Benson is lying there because it's a demonstration of a failure of system of government that was supposed to support the rule of law. My message to President Uhuru Kenyatta and I am very clear in my mind.
"Security will not be managed in the country through assassinations and extra-judicial killings. It won't solve any problem in this country. We should not allow people who run the security system to accept a procedure that is a process in solving problems," he said.
Mr Kiptire was found murdered in West Pokot County. He had been abducted from his Eldoret shop by people who identified themselves as police officers.
