Speaking on Thursday during an interview on KTN, the legislator faulted Interior and Coordination of National Government Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho for recording a statement at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

According to Mr Serem, the best thing for the PS to have done was to walk into DP Ruto's office to ask him about the assassination claims.

"I was expecting Kibicho to walk to the office of the deputy president and ask him to express what he knows about the saga," said the MP.

Serem said that there was no need for the deputy president to record a statement with the DCI as the cabinet secretaries at the centre of the alleged assassination plot had already confirmed that they had held a meeting at a Nairobi hotel.

Karanja Kibicho reportedly presented himself at the DCI on Wednesday to file a complaint of harassment against the deputy president.

Kibicho has been locked in a supremacy battle with DP Ruto who has accused the PS of undermining him.
