The Sunday expose by Citizen TV, which was dubbed Mara Heist, opened a Pandora box of the dirty deals happening behind the deals.

The programme, which was aired in both the 7 and 9pm bulletins, revealed many things Kenyans never knew about the institution.

The management of the institution has been put on the spot over the mismanagement of close to Sh190 million over a period of time.

Standard discovered that only small groups of people including students and other members of staff could be seen at different corners of the institution attempting to discuss the matter.

The staff and students were reluctant to say anything on camera as they feared being victimised at the end of the day.

In the interview, the university's acting Finance Manager Spencer Sankale spilled the beans on how fund were looted.

He claimed that the Vice Chancellor Prof Mary Walingo’s and the driver Hassan Noor were behind the looting spree after lots of cash went missing.

A lecturer, who spoke on condition of anonymity said that all is well but refused to comment on the matter saying that it is under probe

"All is well. We are in office as usual. Whatever the expose intended to achieve will not deter us from conducting our duties, “said one lecturer, as quoted by Standard.

University's Corporate Affairs Officer Amos Kemboi also said that everything was normal even after the detectives came over to probe the matter.
